Interest in adoption of AI is now palpable across diverse organizations. Good leadership is also aware of the risks involved in getting A.I. wrong, or diving into the field without a well defined, systematic, and strategic plan. A prerequisite to formulation of the long-term approach is comprehension of the high-level typical lifecycle of A.I. done right.

There are multiple recursive steps in the depicted non-linear process, not all shown for sake of visual clarity. Each one of the components needs dedicated effort, methodology, investment, the right tools and process guidelines.

A balance between 'requirements' versus 'guidelines' must be achieved so as not to stifle innovation.
